General Information

Class hours: Tuesday and Thursday, 6:00-9:00 pm

Class location: Patterson High School, room Science 505

Course Description: Introduction to the principals of life, including reproduction, heredity, development, evolution, historical development of biology, molecular biology and ecology. Not open to students who have completed BIO 101. Not a substitute for BIO 101. Field Trips may be required. Lecture/Laboratory. (CSU, UC) (CC Biol 17)

Materials to be supplied by Students: These materials are needed by the second meeting

  • Lab Book: Hard back composition style book with graph paper (Staples)
  • Binder and paper
  • Ruler with metric measurements
  • Index cards: 3 X 5 and 4 X 6
  • Pens, pencils, high-liters

Out of class assignments for which you will be responsible Due dates listed on calendar

  • Current event articles from magazines, newspapers & Internet (2 each Tuesday)
  • Keep a record of all assignments and your grades. (A page in the lab book will be dedicated to this assignment)
  • A written and oral report on a scientist
  • Flash cards for tests
  • Others to be assigned
